This infernal experiment begins to tire me! How much longer will I continue being a slave to this process? I have followed the instructions of her notes countless times, adjusted them according to my own calculations countless more, but every time - a mixed breed, an impure monstrosity, an abomination!

And yet, even if it takes a thousand more attempts, the reward will be more than worth it. A being as powerful as this, that also obeys my every command - what would I not do for such a gift?

Thus, once more, I will begin again. What manner of creature shall I expect this time..?

It's unknown whether Ms. Shelley ever achieved her dream of creating life. While it is true that her secret notebook gives account, in astonishing detail, the tools and methods needed for doing so, there is no evidence to suggest she ever succeeded. 

Today, however, the hope of a small group of enthusiasts has been rekindled owing to the notes' recent discovery. 

They work in secret, pushing the boundaries of both science and ethics, trying to create a new kind of life - a creature that, if Mary was right, will obey their every whim.
